Dang 5 Years!!!

(since my last post)

I was going through some emails today for google adsense and somehow managed to amount $79 in revenue.  Meaning I need $21 to be eligible for a payout... Anyways.. Let me drop this here to see if this will get me publishing something more often.  

In the meantime here is a photo from every year of blogging I have missed.

Cuba Round II

Cuba. Que lindo es mi Cuba. And boy let me tell you it's a journey in itself just getting here. This is the ticketing booth @MIA International waiting to have our boarding passes printed and pay for our luggage. Going to Cuba for most is an opportunity to take anything and everything you can fit or can't fit in luggage, you name it and we take it. Bikes, coffee makers, basketballs, rollerskates, baby cribs. EVERYTHING! Landing in Cuba you exit the plane right off the runway.. Then like any country you stand in line at customs.. After getting through customs our chariot awaited :)A Russian Lada is the norm.. On my last visit we decided to take a break from La Habana and head out to VARADERO! About 140km east of La Habana it's a straight shot on the via Blanca highway. It took us about 2 hours and some change with some stops and keeping an eye out for the caballitos (police). One of the cool stops on the way was El Puente de Bacunayagua, standing 110 meters high it is one of Cubas top 7 wonders of civil engineering. And Yes.. there are tolls in Cuba too.. Varadero Beach Some Photos from the resort we stayed at.. The steak house which was closed during our visit for repairs. The place where they do their weddings.. Pool Bar!! Pool Bungalows Pool Area.. Sunset That about wrapped up the Varadero part of the trip... I'll be back later for some of La Habana

Trash Treasures Round II

Back again with another pretty cool find. This time I was just driving home from work and saw this big bunched up thing on the side of a dumpster. Being the inquisitive person I am I drove on up to see what it was. I should have snapped a photo of it as it was when I found it. After pulling it out I still didnt know what it was until I fully set it up. Here you have it...a Hammock!




And as an added bonus I found these too!



Some Old School Atomic Skis with poles. LOL. These will turn into a project bench/Chair that I am going to make out of old ski and snowboard equipment.

Trash Treasures

So I´ve been labeled the Trash King by close friends and family. I also have the luck of number 7 floating around with me. I´ve always been interested in others peoples unwanted items so naturally when I see some stuff on the curb I stop and take a look. If I like something I see, I take it.. why not "someones trash is another mans treasure" right? As of late I have been finding some really cool stuff. Stuff with VALUE. My latest find included items valued at over $1000 dollars and I´ll get to that in a minute. At this rate I will probably have to open a store soon. Or just have an always open garage sale like @CedEntertainer on the recent movie Larry Crowne.

I figured I would share my finds with you through this blog. This will be the first of many posts to come about what I find on my travels throughout the good ol county of Fairfax and surrounding areas.

Here goes the first official post of Trash Treasures and 2012!!

The new year started out with people cleaning out their old unwanted furniture, clothes, and other home accessories. This is what I have found this year so far. Everything is for sale! The nice Adirondack chair is from Plow & Hearth and has 2 cushions! All the cast iron and birds are from Pottery Barn and current inventory!

First Shred day of the year!!

Bro and I went to 7 Springs on Christmas eve and I finally got to scratch that itch I've been having all summer long.

Going to the mall today...
